I have seen a fair few reports that Youtube is testing server side ads, which will make adblockers and services like insidious redundant over night. Personally I am surprised they haven’t done this before, but when (as they will need to do this) it happens then the Youtube experience will change forever. You will HAVE to watch ads, and there will be no skipping them if that is enabled. This includes embedding and linking. Of course, this will literally force users to pay for Premium, something I have recently cancelled. Perhaps it is now time to look at alternatives…
