Ableton has launched a rent to buy service which means you pay 24 monthly payments (differing prices but in the UK it is £22.46 a month = £539.04) for Live Suite 12. Now that isn’t actually too bad as you own the product afterwards, and I guess that it is pretty affordable for many! It only falls down when you realise that they are integrating Splice support which costs another monthly fee – but the idea is good…

Also we are seeing the 12.3 update to add a lot of new and improved stuff. Stem separation, Splice integration and much more seems to be a real large update. Also there are big updates for Move and Push 3 as well!
Seems that Ableton have finally listened with the last few updates being pretty small. Looking forward to checking the new version when it is released, with no confirmed date yet except the rent to buy is live(!) right now…
