Dawesome Zyklop Review!

zyklop

Dawesome recently let loose into the wild a new FREE VST3 plugin called Zyklop, so after spending some time with it here is my quick review. Zyklop is like the little sister of Myth featuring the re-synthesis engine and a cut down experience with only 1 iris and less FX. It comes with 125 presets as well, which showcase well its potential, and to be honest it is how free plugins should be, no email or registration or protection at all, just goto the website and download and play! More developers should do this in my humble rant!

It is also nice to see the developer walk you through quickly with the main features of Zyklop – another thing that many do not do anymore. Watching the above video should give you a real good idea of how flexible Zyklop is. Well worth downloading in my opinion. You can also check out my short review of myth below!

Dawesome Myth V1.5 Review

Dawesome Zyklop

9.4 out of 10
zyklop

Great free plugin – lots of fun. Works really well and has 125 presets and making your own is really easy and well worth the time spent!

No email registration or anything needed either – just visit website and download. Windows and Mac versions available. This is how a free plugin should work, other developers take note!

Stability
9.5 out of 10
No issues for me, but switching between presets can sometimes be slow
Ease of Use
9.2 out of 10
Easy to use, but it certainly isn't simple. Benefits from messing around with and some time spent
Look & Feel
9 out of 10
Once you understand what it is about it is pretty quick.
Price
10 out of 10

Pros

Easy to use once you get your head around it

Good price. Free is always good

Works well, stable and not too cpu heavy really!

Cons

Not as easy as say an analogue style synth

Whilst it looks good it is a complex synth

More of a synth for making evolving and moving sounds
