Recently like many people I have been finding that OBS can crash quite often, plugins often don’t work 100% and there are just a lot of resources needed to stream. Meld has come a long way since it was launched and here is a great video showing off how Meld could replace OBS in your setup now!
I have found Meld to be a decent alternative and for me (your mileage could vary) it has been way more reliable than recent versions of OBS. Now if it could just offer some more encoding options like h.265/HEVC/AV1 it would replace OBS for me… Also it doesn’t support SRT streaming, it is 2026 now not 2016. But things like this could come!
